Our goal is to produce confident, well informed, caring physicians who are more than prepared to meet the challenges of being an outpatient primary care provider or hospitalist for patients of all ages or to go on to sub-specialty training in any Pediatric, Internal Medicine, or Combined Internal Medicine and Pediatric Fellowship training program.

Our primary training site, LAC + USC Medical Center, is a 600-bed public teaching hospital associated with the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. It is located in East Los Angeles in the Boyle Heights neighborhood. We see incredible pathology and get excellent clinical training through a well- integrated curriculum.

One of the recurring themes among residents in our program is that we are “mission driven,” meaning that we all share a sense of wanting to care for the underserved. We care for some of the most vulnerable patients in the country at “County.” We are looking for applicants with a focus on patient advocacy and interest in serving the underserved.
